  1. I just read an article about modulator-demodulator (Modem). Modem is a device that modulates an analog carrier signal to encode digital information. Then, it will demodulates a carrier signal to decode the transmitted information. Usually, modems are classified by the total of data (bits) they can send in a second. Nowadays, internet users are using the faster modems which are very high data rates. There are many types of modems, such as cable modems, ADSL modems, wireless data modem, radio modems, and so on. More information I can find from this article. Without reading this article, I would not realize that modems are important in our life, especially in telecommunication.
The language used is simple but got some scientific words are hard to understand, like PTSN. Sentences were written in present tense and always write in active form. Many examples are given in explanation.

  2. An article that I read is about camera. Mosaic photo sensor exists since 1961, filmless camera in 1972, and first digital camera in 1975.Compact digital camera is small and portable. It also called point-and-shoot camera. It less than 20mm thick, described as subcompacts .It also easy to use, image can usually only be stored using lossy compression (JPEG).It has zoom capability, but the range is usually less than bridge and digital single-lens reflex cameras (DSLR).

Article that I read is quite long. It has a lot of vocabulary that I do not understand like portable, leaf shutter. Besides that, it has many parts like type of camera, and history.

  3. How about the article about the handphone?Something that we always use for different situation.Cordless telephone linked to a cellular radio network. Early cellular networks used analogue technology, but since the late 1990s most services use a digital system. Calls are linked to the public telephone system via a network of connected base stations and exchanges; the area covered by each base station is called a cell. Each cell is about 5 km/3 mi across, and has a separate low-power transmitter. Mobility is possible as calls can be made while moving from one radio cell to another. In Europe, GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) has been adopted by many countries as a digital standard, enabling travellers to use a single phone across different national networks. Tri-band mobile phones are capable of changing frequencies to allow local networks in the USA to be accessed.Today people need it to do many thing.

I don't want to comment to much about the language because the article is very goog and challenge me to buy a new handphone.

  4. This article is about population overconsumption is the real problem.Since in the 80’s, people have been assuming that to fight climate change and other environmental disasters is by monitoring the world’s population growth. Paul Ehrlich who wrote a book on population said that as the population grows, the world climate worsens. But according to the records, women now have fewer babies if compared to their mother and that half of the world has fertility rate below the replacement level because of the changing of position of women in the society. And so, the main reason to climate change is overconsumption instead of overpopulation. This has proven where in the developed countries the carbon dioxide production is more than underdeveloped countries.
This article is easy to understand because it gives many example to explain about overconsumption.

  5. I just read an article about the fifth generation SUZUKI SWIFT. It is my favourite car. The Generation V Swift debuted at the Paris Auto Salon in September 2004. This car was re-design with the previous Cultus-based models. Indian Engineers were called to Japan to help Suzuki design this generation of Swift. The British auto car magazine gave the new Swift a favourable 4/5 stars in road test, judging it a "thoroughly impressive all-rounder". The Generation IV Swift has received a four stars out of five rating in the EuroNCAP crash tests. Since its global launch in 2005, which was kicked off with a marketing campaign fronted by the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in many European countries, the Swift has recorded above forecast sales in most markets in Japan.

I was totally interested in this article because it is about my favourite car. It more attracts when it tells me that it was launch by a famous football player Cristiano Ronaldo. The article was very informative because provides all the information about the car. The language was very technical and some words used not familiar such as chassis which carries the meaning of bodywork. However I feels very enjoy reading this article and hope to have this car in the future my GODS grace…..

  6. Recently, i read an article bout how a human think.Should we moving forward or backward?

Moving forward,we will meet challenges that we din expected. We need a lot of courage and bravery to begin our move to step forward. You need to put alot of effort n thousand of trials of course.

But,do you think moving backward is hard for you?Wat i mean here is that looking backward.Moving backward shows that you are a coward that scare to take the challenges in front of you,a person who prefer to stay remain at where he/she is without making any changes except backward.

Im trying to make myself to take the step to move forward,im looking for tougher challenges,i must learn to grow up as my number of ages is growing year by year.

Take you step moving forward together. Face the challenge bravely, show that you you able to take up the cahllenges!!

  12. This article is about a touchscreen is a display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. However, if the object sensed is active, as with a light pen, the term touchscreen is generally not applicable. The ability to interact directly with a display typically indicates the presence of a touchscreen.

The touchscreen has two main attributes. First, it enables one to interact with what is displayed directly on the screen. Secondly, it lets one do so without requiring any intermediate device, again, such as a stylus that needs to be held in the hand.

This article are simple and easy to understand.

  14. Recently, I had read a topic about "stop watch"...the super-fast photography can visually stop a moving thing for a while. All the actions are captured by high-speed video camera up to 675000 frames per seconds. The video camera is a powerful tool with applications far beyond entertainment. However, the application isn't just to capturing but it can be apply in variety of problems especially in industrial who those industrialists want to analyze machine failure; car makers filming test crashers; biologist want to investigate animal locomotion and many more. The 'TIME WRAP' crew generally shoots with two different video cameras: the Photron Fastcam SAM, which can capture up to 675000 frames per seconds and the Phantom v-10, which can shoot HD quality up to 1000 frames per seconds where each of the camera costs approximately US$100000..that is nut guys...but it seem having a super power to stop time.
This article is very interesting n the word that writer use in this article are so good and there have some new vocabulary that we don’t know.

  15. DINOSOUR

The word dinosaur means "terrible lizard." Just what is a dinosaur? Dinosaurs were land dwelling reptiles that covered the earth for millions of years during the Mesozoic era. They came in all sizes and shapes and their fossils can be found all over the world. The first dinosaurs were around 250 millions years ago during the Triassic time period. More and more dinosaurs evolved and flourished until about 65 millions years ago during the Cretaceous period when they all died out.

There are different theories as to why the dinosaurs became extinct. Probably the most popular theory right now is the asteroid theory. According to this theory a large asteroid or comet collided with Earth about 65 million years ago. The dramatic changes in climate that resulted from this huge collision were too much for the dinosaurs. They were not able to survive.

Another theory that could explain how the dinosaurs became extinct is volcanic activity. A huge increase in volcanic activity at around 65 millions years ago could have pumped so much ash into the air that it blocked out the sun killing the dinosaurs.

  16. I've just read an amazing article about how bomb can be made just by using sugar.

Amazing enough, the item needed to make it are just sugar and potassium nitrate with some wire needed.

Wondering what is potassium nitrate? Well, you can find it in fertiliser. In other word, potassium nitrate main source of making is urine or just anything that already in the process of decomposing.

Just by adding sugar to potassium nitrate, mixing it together and let the mixture become hard or crystallize has helped you to make a bomb. Lastly, put some flameble wire to the mixture and there you get it. A bomb. Amazing isnt it.

And dont worry, it is not a dangerous bomb. Its just a smoke bomb.As a conclusion, dont look simply on an object because we might not know if it dangerous, or in this case sweet sugar.

  27. One of the articles which I have read was about Pandora's box. In Greek mythology, Pandora's box is the large jar carried by a person named Pandora which can unleashed many evils(ills and sickness).

After Prometheus' theft of the secret of fire, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create the woman Pandora as part of the punishment for mankind. Pandora was given many seductive gifts from Aphrodite, Hermes, Hera, Charites, and Horae (according to Works and Days).

For fear of additional reprisals, Prometheus warned his brother Epimetheus not to accept any gifts from Zeus, but Epimetheus did not listen, and married Pandora. Pandora had been given a large jar and instruction by Zeus to keep it closed, but she had also been given the gift of curiosity, and ultimately opened it. When she opened it, all of the evils, ills, diseases, and burdensome labor that mankind had not known previously, escaped from the jar, but it is said, that at the very bottom of her box, there lay hope.

It's an interesting story but for me there in no such thing as Pandora's box which can unleashes evils. It's just one of mere, ridiculous old folks stories.

  29. I was read about article superhuman people and further information: human enhancement and post-human

Any attempt to temporarily or permanently overcome the current limitations of the human body through natural or artificial means may be referred to as human enhancement.
The term is sometimes applied to the use of technological means to select or alter human characteristics and capacities, whether or not the alteration results in characteristics and capacities that lie beyond the existing human range. Here, the test is whether the technology is used for non-therapeutic purposes. Some bioethicists restrict the term to the non-therapeutic application of specific technologies — neuro-, cyber-, gene-, and nano-technologies — to human biology.

  31. i was reading an article about Modem.well, A modem is a device or program that enables a computer to transmit data over, for example, telephone or cable lines. Computer information is stored digitally, whereas information transmitted over telephone lines is transmitted in the form of analog waves. A modem converts between these two forms.

Fortunately, there is one standard interface for connecting external modems to computers called RS-232. Consequently, any external modem can be attached to any computer that has an RS-232 port, which almost all personal computers have. There are also modems that come as an expansion board that you can insert into a vacant expansion slot. These are sometimes called onboard or internal modems.

While the modem interfaces are standardized, a number of different protocols for formatting data to be transmitted over telephone lines exist. Some, like CCITT V.34, are official standards, while others have been developed by private companies. Most modems have built-in support for the more common protocols -- at slow data transmission speeds at least, most modems can communicate with each other. At high transmission speeds, however, the protocols are less standardized.

  32. I just read an article about cell phone..
"Should cell phones be allowed in school? Are cell phones causing more bad than good? This article give information from many sources to find an answer to the uprising question... Should cell phones be allowed in schools?"

Crackdown! Ban! Dangerous! These are phrases that are used when it comes to cell phones. However, these words are clearly against irresponsible cell phone use in public. Helpful! Needed! Time savers! These are also thrown around about cell phones. So,should cell phones be allowed in public places? In my opinion I believe cell phones should be allowed, as long as people are responsible.

In a study published by the AEI-Brookings Joint Center, a team of researchers compared the effects of driving while talking on the phone and driving while drunk. They concluded that drivers that were using cell phones exhibited greater impairment than intoxicated drivers. So yes, cell phones DO pose potential threats.

CRASH!! You were driving down the highway on a rainy day, when a driver loses control and slams right into you. After you are done spinning out, you reach for your cell phone; with the last amount of energy you have left to call 911. This simple call could save your life, or someone else. With today's world evolving so fast, new dangers come as well. With that, we need to get help and fast! However not only on the road do we need cell phones.

Some blame the cell phone companies; but all they are doing is selling a product. Others blame irresponsible teens; but why blame them for wanting to talk to their friends? So, who's left, THE PARENTS! Parents need to limit their teen's usage of their cell phones! Limited cell phone plans do exist and need to be introduced more, therefore opening new options for parents and teens.

In conclusion, cell phones should be allowed in public places. They are very useful in emergencies and can save lives. As long as people know when the right time to use them, there should be no problem. So don't be the guy who ruins everyone's movie by keeping your cell on. Cells need to be used with moderation and responsibility.
